Why nine days?

Most of us picnic at the weekend, so the week runs across two of them. It also takes in International Picnic Day on 18 June and Father’s Day on Sunday 20 June.

Since 2005, National Picnic Week has got the country out to its parks, beaches and back gardens every June. All you need is food you like, a blanket and somewhere green.
